AMBLE 1.7.3 — a cinematic screensaver
===================================

A creature walks a real desert landscape, filmed by a patient camera. The sky
can follow your local time and weather, or stay in daylight.

WHAT YOU NEED
-------------
A Mac with Apple silicon (M1 or later), running macOS 14.0 or later.

INSTALL
-------
1. Unzip this download if your Mac hasn't already.
2. Double-click "Amble.saver".
3. System Settings opens and asks whether to install. Choose Install.
("For this user only" is fine.)
4. Amble now appears in System Settings > Screen Saver, under "Other".
Select it, and use Preview to see it full screen.

This build is signed and notarised by Apple, so macOS should install it
without any security warnings. If you ever see "cannot be opened", the file
was probably altered in transit — download it again rather than overriding
the warning.

SETTINGS
--------
System Settings > Screen Saver > Amble > Options:

Framed viewer A soft vignette around the picture. On by default.

Sky "Follow local time and weather" — the sun follows your
clock and the clouds follow the weather where you are, so
at night it is genuinely dark.
"Always daytime" — every run picks a different daylight
hour, season and sun direction, and never gets dark.

Your choice is remembered, including when a newer version is installed.

PERFORMANCE
-----------
Amble draws 30 frames a second and stops completely when the screensaver is
dismissed. If the Mac gets hot or busy, it quietly reduces quality and
restores it when things settle.

REMOVE IT
---------
System Settings > Screen Saver, right-click Amble and choose Delete, or drag
~/Library/Screen Savers/Amble.saver to the Trash.

FEEDBACK
--------
Worth mentioning if you see it: anything that stutters, a camera move that
feels wrong, or the creature behaving oddly. The Mac model and macOS version
help.
